How does it work?

West Coast Football Association Youth Football division was created to serve players and cheerleaders in grades 1 to 6. Players and cheer can now get the opportunity to play organized tackle football with an implemented play time guaranteed for the season. No player will be denied an opportunity to play. Teams are located in the Fresno\Central\Madera area's to accommodate players and parents. We will be playing teams from Madera to Reedley this year, with some out of town post season games.
Three divisions:
Pee Wee division: 1st & 2nd grade.
up to 110 lbs
Juniordivision: 3rd & 4th grade.
up to 140 lbs
Senior division: 5th to 6th grade.
up to 175 lbs.

All players will be required to try and sell 5 fundraiser items. There will be a drawing for the top sellers. WCFA will supply all equipment needed for the season except for football cleats and socks. Equipment must then be returned at the end of the season. Players will be provided with a basic picture package and participation award to keep and cherish at the end of the season. All games will be played in the surrounding areas (Fresno, Sanger, Madera, Dinuba and Reedley). Game times are usually Saturday in the afternoons or later with all home games to be played at Fresno or Central Unified football fields. Season begins July 14 and finishes in the beginning of November. General Admission will be charged at the gates. Games are full tackle, officiated by CIF certified officials, 4 quarters (8 minutes per quarter) and are governed by high school rules. Practice is generally 3 days a week 2 hours a day. In order to get the required amount of conditioning, All teams practice five days a week 2 hours a day for the first three weeks. Teams will be in full game uniform and must weigh in at the halftime of the previous game. Every player will get play time during the season (*guaranteed play time).
*Note:This rule does not guarantee play time for each game. Discipline, medical or safety issues are highly considered when allowing play time.
WCFA believes in promoting good sportsmanship by having parents, players and coaches sign a code of conduct contract. We believe that parents should play a big part in their child’s triumphs and miscues. As a precautionary measure, we also conduct background checks on all our coaching staff members.
